Outsideininsideoutinsideoutoutsidein(OIIOIOOI) is an international artist-run collective and transdisciplinary platform founded in 2018, gathering artists, researchers, filmmakers, and cultural practitioners who collaborate across disciplines to investigate sound, embodiment, and ecology.
Each August, the collective gathers at Torhaus Wehlen Gallery, a former administration building from 1742 at the edge of Stadt Wehlen, Saxon Switzerland, using the space and its surrounding forest, caves, and rock passages as a site for collective process.
This year’s residency laboratory, Fallowing the Bodies, takes place 10 August – 4 September 2026, with a public one day–one night event on 29–30 August. The theme explores the relationship between rest and productivity — the idea that what looks like stillness may be exactly where something else continues to grow. Through collective practices, workshops, and encounters with the landscape of Saxon Switzerland, participants are invited to re-orient their bodies, internally and externally.
The open call invites applicants to respond to a set of questions on rest, in any form or medium, and to submit 1–3 works responding to the theme. The first stage of selection is conducted anonymously.
