ENG
The Goethe-Institute is currently seeking a committed colleague for the implementation (project management) of the EU-funded project DATAS (“The Data and the Sovereign”) from 15 February 2025 at the Goethe-Institute in Prague.
About the Project
We are seeking a project manager for an exciting initiative exploring the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on society, democracy, and personal freedoms. The DATAS (The Data and the Sovereign) project combines artist residencies, exhibitions, and publications to explore new ways of understanding sovereignty in the digital age. As AI increasingly influences our decisions, it raises important questions about how we can protect individual and national sovereignty in a world dominated by surveillance and tech companies that treat people as commodities. This project examines how art can reflect and challenge these shifts in power.
DATAS highlights artists from Eastern Europe, organizing residencies, events, and pop-up exhibitions in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Slovenia, and Ukraine. The project will culminate in a major international group exhibition at Rudolfinum in Prague. By focusing on this region, we aim to address overlooked issues, support emerging talent, and give these artists greater international exposure.
DATAS is a project of cultural and artistic organisations from five different countries. The project is led by the Ljubljana-based organization Projekt Atol. In DATAS, Goethe Institute focuses on activities within the Czech Republic as well as selected activities that concern the entire project. The overall project management and activities in other countries are largely covered by other project partners.
DATAS is funded by the European Union under the Creative Europe Programme (Call CREA-CULT-2024-COOP-2)
