mainly European programming. The network provides a financial support to cinemas

Founded in 1947 during the Cannes Film Festival, the federation is the international umbrella organisation of film societies and non-profit arthouse cinemas. The aim of the association is to develop close co-operation between its members, to maintain the presentation, distribution and study of films in the sense of culture, art and social development. FICC's pilot project is a contribution to cultural education. Throughout Europe and throughout the world, the member film societies and cinemas of FICC have a big demand for films from other cultural regions. But the audiences can never see these films as they are not available on the national markets through commercial distributors. FICC's pilot project enhances the cultural diversity of the programmes offered to the audience.
