Egon Schiele Art Centrum Český Krumlov / Egon Schiele Art Centre Český Krumlov
Besides a presentation documenting the life and work of Egon Schiele and a permanent exhibition of his watercolours and drawings the ESAC presents regularly changing exhibitions. These classical and contemporary 20th century art exhibitions occupy a space of 3000 square metres. Czech representatives in particular are presented alongside international artists. In order to encourage international exchange part of the museum complex was converted into generously proportioned studios for long-term study and working visits by East and West European artists. The studios can be leased for 10 years by international organisations and flats are currently being prepared for writers as well. The centre doesn't provide any financial help, they only rent the spaces. In addition, an extensive museum shop and a traditional café with Bohemian specialities have been opened. Mezinárodní visegrádský fond / International Visegrad Fund
The mission of the International Visegrad Fund is to promote development of closer cooperation among the Visegrad Group (V4) countries—the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia—and to strengthen the ties among people in the region. The Fund provides funding for common cultural, scientific, research and educational projects, youth exchanges, promotion of tourism and cross-border cooperation. Most of the grant recipients are non-governmental organizations, municipalities and local governments, universities, schools and other public institutions and also individual citizens. Milkwood Artist Residence / Milkwood Artist Residence
With a fully equipped apartment, Milkwood Artist Residence provides an opportunity for artists and scholars to concentrate on their work, meet local artists and explore the historic and natural sites of the region. Residents of Milkwood find themselves vitalized by the idyllic, village environment and the strong contemporary community of Czech artists who have made their home in Český Krumlov. The location provides excellent opportunities for day trips to Prague, Vienna, Linz or other South Bohemian towns.
In addition to the accommodations, residents may request assistance with retaining local studio, exhibition or performance space. These requests are addressed on an individual basis as spaces are provided by local organizations and are not always available. Applicant artists will be advised of any additional costs prior to commitment. The residence application form provides room for additional requests.
On occasion, Milkwood hosts educational and cultural programs that utilize the residence. To help support its programming, it also accepts non-resident guests at short-term rates. No programming or guest accommodations, however, are scheduled when artists are in residence, and residence scheduling takes precedence over other activities.
The minimum stay is two weeks. Rare exceptions to the rate are made for artists or scholars who can show both economic need and excellence in their discipline. Website in English only.
Pražský literární dům autorů německého jazyka / Prague´s Literary House of German Language Authors
The Prague Literary House of German Language Authors aims to gather information and communicate the findings and observations about the lives and works of German writing authors from various regions of the Czech Republic with its own regard to the "Prague Circle". The society organizes cultural and educational events, exhibitions, gatherings, readings, lectures and conferences with the participation of Czech and foreign experts. It also gathers documentation and administers a library, publishes specialized literature and press materials and informs the public about Czech and German literary works. The Prague´s Literary House of German Language Authors gives away temporary residences for Czech prose writers, poets and dramatists in Germany. Website in Czech and German.
Pro Helvetia Warsaw offers artists and professional cultural practitioners in a wide sense (including administrators, choreographers, authors, critics, translators, technicians, etc.) who are not yet established on the international scene the possibility of a three-week to six-month residency in Switzerland (for artists from the region encompassed by Pro Helvetia Warszawa), Poland, Czech Republic or Latvia (for artists from Switzerland). Tranzit offers two-month residencies as part of the “artist in residence” at museumsquartier, quartier 21 in Vienna. The residencies are designed for artists, curators, theoreticians and other professionals working in the contemporary art scene in the Czech Republic, in Slovakia and in Hungary. Yo-yo is a non-profit organization started in March 2009 by collective of artists, curators and cultural organizers. For the association yo-yoing means above all: creating and playing with ideas and codes; organizing common projects, shifting the borders of the disciplines; discovering of a new spaces for art creation; sensitivity to environment and reflecting the changing situations around; initiating and supporting the experiments at the intersection of art, ecology and (new) media; preparing the Kravín: space for creation, education, discussion. The organization runs residency center dedicated to the development of ecological media art, with local, as well as international scope. Its program is situated across the disciplines: artists of all crafts, scientists, writers, ecologists, craftsmen, as well as local denizens. Residents from any field should in their projects reflect the environment, eventually involve the local inhabitants (or let themselves be involved in theirs), stories, activities.
