The gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts does not only function as a traditional gallery; it is also the Academy’s communication space presenting the practical outcome of its work. Its impact reaches beyond the borders of the Academy. The ideologically open concept of the gallery permits the members of the art community (artists, art critics, curators and art dealers) together with the general public to acquaint themselves with the curatorial projects and artworks of the Academy students, and at the same time, it introduces the students of the Academy to the various forms of art through events organised by curators, artists, or students of other Czech or foreign art institutions.
